Golden Gaming Inc. Proposes $600 Million Casino Resort in Kansas
The new trend in casino gambling is that Las Vegas based companies who have made their fortune in Nevada from the casino gambling market are branching out around the country.
The latest company to try and stray from the bright lights of Vegas is Golden Gaming Inc. which has put in a proposal to build a casino resort on 200 acres of land that resides in both Bonner Springs and Edwardsville.
The resort would include a convention center, a spa, meeting space, restaurants, a hotel, entertainment venues, and an 18 hole championship golf course. The plan has been designed by Las Vegas architecture firm Friedmutter Group Inc.
The company placing the bid, Golden Gaming, already operates casinos in both Nevada and Colorado, and is now trying to expand to Kansas.
Blake Sartini, Golden Gamings chairman said, "After looking at other potential markets nationally for our flagship property, we believe Kansas presents the best opportunity because we have an unmatched site and the best development plan."
City governments will review the six proposals and will chose one to endorse to the Kansas Lottery Commission, who will chose one proposal for the county.
