Jim Justice has big plans for the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia and on Friday he paid the necessary money to ensure that those dreams would be fulfilled. Justice purchased a license that will give him the right to operate casino games at the Greenbrier.

The casino is expected to be just a part of the upscale options that patrons will have when Greenbrier opens permanently next April. There will also be spa treatments, golf, and restaurants to fill out the facility.

"What we are looking at here is the possibility of the classiest casino in the nation," said observer Carol Bentler, "If the end result of the new Greenbrier is anywhere near what it looks like it will be, this should be a huge success story for West Virginia."

The entire facility will be 82,000 square feel. The casino will hold 400 slot machines, and forty table games. Once completed, the Greenbrier will bring thousands of new employment opportunities to West Virginia residents.

"It'll be a classy kind of pause," said Justice, who bought the Greenbrier out of bankruptcy back in May for just over $20 million, "This casino will be one of a kind. Something West Virginians will be proud of."

The current plan is for the Greenbrier to open a temporary, limited casino in October. That must be approved by the Lottery Commission. The permanent casino should be ready by April, with Justice and many people in West Virginia giddy with anticipation.
