Greenbrier Gambling Project Will Begin In September

The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia is receiving a makeover by its new owner, and that renovation will include casino gambling. The first stage of the casino gambling expansion is slated to be ready for play by September.

New owner Jim Justice has unveiled his plan and timeline for the casino to be open. By September, Justice hopes to have a small casino open at The Greenbrier, but his full-scale gambling plans would be completed by April of 2010.

"It's just going to create such a wonderful opportunity," said Todd Fishon, the new Vice President of Casino Operations at The Greenbrier, "It's going to be elegant. It's going to be tasteful."

It is going to have to be all those things to win the approval of the people of West Virginia. The Greenbrier is a four star resort in Southern West Virginia that is known for its elegance. The new owner hopes to bring that elegance to the casino.

In addition to the casino, Justice also showed plans for restaurants and shops. The additions would be underneath the front lawn of the resort, and patrons can reach the new amenities by elevator. Stairs will also be available.

West Virginia has recently expanded their gambling options. The limits have been raised and the hours of operation have also increased in the state.
