Hard Rock Enters Casino License Scramble In Maryland
The state of Maryland is going the way of the nation in regards to casino gambling. It is coming to the state in a big way, with five licenses in different areas up for grabs. The process has begun to find developers for these casinos.
One developer with a rich history of successful casino is Hard Rock International. The company officially has thrown their name into the ring, partnering with Banks Contracting Co. to form a strong base.
"Maryland presents an excellent opportunity for the expansion of Hard Rock gaming due to the tremendous density of population in the state and its ranking among states with high levels of personal income," said James Allen, Hard Rock's Chariman, in a statement.
Banks Contracting has one of the best reputations of any business in Maryland. The new partners have yet to officially place a bid for a casino license, but they have until February 2nd to do so.
The Hard Rock has been busy building their casino empire. They already have casinos in Florida and Mississippi. This summer, they are planning the opening for their casino in Macau, giving them some international clout.
Joining forces in casino ventures is nothing new for Hard Rock. The partner, however, is a bit suspicious. They have in the past partnered with Cordish Co., but this will be their first venture with Banks.
