Harrah's Brings Microsoft Surface To Rio Casino In Las Vegas
Microsoft is always trying to evolve, always trying to come up with the next best thing in technology. With their Surface computer they feel they have hit it big.
Surface is a coffee table shaped computer that is triggered by touch. The computer has found its way into one of the most popular casinos in Las Vegas.
Harrah's Entertainment has bought into the idea behind Surface and has installed six Surface tables at their Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Harrah's has worked hard and come up with a way that the machine can be beneficial in the casino situation.
The machine will serve several different purposes for Harrah's. Patrons will be able to order their cocktails through the machine. The feature that Harrah's seems most eager to try is the "flirt" application.
People will be able to flirt with others around the bar through the machine. They will be able to communicate across the bar to others at different machines. Harrah's feels this will be an advantage that other casinos do not yet offer.
Games will also be available through Surface. Pinball, memory games, and bowling are just a few of the games that will be available through the machine. Playing interactive games at bars is something that began only a few decades ago, but has become popular.
Patrons using Surface will also be able to tour all of Harrah's properties in Las Vegas. Another application of the new machine will be a guide to the Las Vegas strip. Patrons can use this guide to find shows or restaurants, among other things, that are happening on the Strip.
The machines are now available for use at the iBar 'ultralounge' at the Rio.
