Harrah's Entertainment Purchases UK Gambling Company
In the United States, the gambling industry is well aware of Harrah's Entertainment, but the world's largest casino operator based on revenue is making their first move into the UK gambling market.
Harrah's Entertainment said today they are entering the UK gambling market with the purchase of London Clubs International. London Clubs operates 4 pretty large casinos in the UK and is widely known in that country.
"London Clubs is a highly attractive way for us to establish presence in the UK gambling market," said Gary Loveman, CEO of Harrah's Entertainment.
Harrahs, which runs about 37 casinos worldwide including Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, has developed an aggressive international expansion plan lately including two big casino-resorts in Spain and Slovenia.
Harrah's UK strategy also includes possibly building a new "mega-casino", if they can get the license to do it. The UK government is going to issue 17 new casino licences, including one for a "megacasino".
