Harrah's Metropolis Casino Expansion Includes Luxury Hotel

Voted Top Online Casino Several Years in a Row!

Harrah's Metropolis Casino, where many Middle Tennesseans go to enjoy a day trip of casino games and entertainment, has made it easier to plan an extended stay: Harrah's Entertainment Inc. has opened a new hotel adjacent to the casino in Metropolis, Ill., just across the Ohio River from Paducah, Ky.

The hotel, which held its grand opening June 30, offers 240 standard rooms with more than 400 square feet in each, as well as junior suites and two-room suites, event and meeting space and new restaurants.

"It's on par with casinos in Veegas," says Amy Crawford, media coordinator for Harrah's Metropolis Casino.

Guests will find all the amenities expected in a comfortable hotel. Suites and premium rooms are furnished with a refrigerator. There is also a gift shop. A new restaurant, the Rivercrest, is just off the hotel lobby and features classic and American favorites at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The casino has attracted gambling news experts from around the Midwest and from Tennessee for several years and has been owned by Harrah's since 2001, says Jamie Gaines, advertising and public relations manager. The casino offers three gaming floors; there are 1,179 slot machines, 30 table games and a 40-seat poker room, according to Gaines. Guests can try their luck at blackjack, Caribbean stud, mini baccarat, craps, roulette and more; table limits start at $5.

While the casino draws visitors interested in casino gambling, the city of Metropolis, Ill., offers several visitor-friendly attractions.
