The Horseshoe Casino made news over the winter when the Cubs announced plans to put up a sign to block the Horseshoe Casino sign that hangs on a building outside of Wrigley Field. Now, the casino is again making news with a new baseball-based promotion.

The Horseshoe is running a promotion in which one lucky person may win $1 million. In order for the casino to give away the million dollars, a Chicago player must hit the sign that the casino has installed on their building at Waveland and Kenmore.

The chances that the sign will be hit are slim. The only player to hit a rooftop outside of Wrigley was Glenallen Hill. That shot was into the power alley, and Cubs historians believe that it will be impossible to hit the Horseshoe billboard in its current location.

In the meantime, the casino will continue to get maximum exposure by having the billboard outside of historic Wrigley Field. The casino has used signage in the past that has brought them plenty of business. They are hoping the new promotion does the same.

If. by chance, a Chicago player does hit the sign, then gamblers would have to go to the casino to sign up for a drawing that will take place. The winner of the drawing will receive the $1 million promised. The Cubs are not part of the promotion.

Many sports teams are now dealing with gambling establishments that want to advertise within the sports facilities. Casino gambling has become much more prevalent in recent years. NFL owners decided last year to change rules to allow teams to partner with local lottery's that used the team names and logos on scratch-off gambling tickets.
