Illinois Set To Hear Final Proposals For Tenth Casino License

The state of Illinois will be getting their tenth casino, it is just not known where the location of that casino will be. The Illinois Gaming Board will hear final proposals from the three finalists on Tuesday.

Three bid teams are preparing their final pleas to the Gaming Board. After all three have had their chance to explain why they should win the license, the board will make their decision.

Des Plaines, Waukegan, and Rosemont are the three possible locations. Each brings a different reason as to why it would be beneficial to bring a casino to their area.

Racetrack owners will be keeping tabs on the proceedings. They will receive a portion of the revenue generated from the new casinos, so the location will become key to how much money is generated.

"The state of Illinois is quickly becoming a major player in the casino gambling industry. With the addition of the newest casino license, they will be announcing to the country that they are here to stay in the casino industry," said Gregory Hillman.

Illinois is like many other states that are expanding their casinos to try and combat the tough economy. Additional casino revenue is helping several states balance their budgets while the casinos themselves are creating job opportunities within the communities where they are located.
