In Tough Times, Philadelphia Park Casino Expanding Workforce

The casino gambling industry in the US continues to thrive. Although revenue is decreasing at many casinos, others are still expanding their operations to satisfy the demand of the people.

Philadelphia Park Casino is one of those casinos. They are holding a job fair on Thursday with the hopes of finding 200 additional employees. The new workers will be needed because of expansion efforts that will be complete in December.

Most industries around the country are having to lay off workers because of the recession. Job loss is at an all time high, and the president has even warned that it may get worse before it gets better.

The casino industry, however, is a different story. Jobs may be lost in areas such as Atlantic City and Las Vegas, but around the US that is not the case. Casino expansion is sweeping the nation, creating thousands of job openings.

In Pennsylvania alone there are several new casinos that are expected to open within the next few years. The state seems to be taking an aggressive approach to surpass Atlantic City as the top gambling destination on the East Coast.

The Philadelphia Park Casino job fair will be held from 10AM to 3PM at the Bucks County Visitors Center in Bensalem. The casino is looking to fill positions for valet parking, cleaning staff, security, hosts, customer service, and food-and-beverage staff.
