Iowa Man Has A Fight With Slot Machine in Casino
Playing slot machines, or any other casino game for that matter, can bring out high levels of anxiety, but when one Iowa man attacked a machine, that anxiety turned into a criminal offense.
Back in July of this year, Truy Huu Phung, was playing a slot machine at Catfish Bend Casino, out of nowhere he began bashing the machine with his right hand. Upon finishing, he checked around, saw nobody saw the incident, and quietly slipped out of the casino.
The trouble began for Phung in August, when officials from the casino saw the outburst on surveillance cameras. Not knowing who the person was, they checked the machine and found that the last players club card that was inserted into the machine before the attack belonged to Phung.
He was then arrested and charged with second degree criminal mischief, which is a class-D felony in Iowa. He now faces up to five years in prison. The bail was set for $5,000 and just this week the judge failed to lower the bail. Trial is set for November, and Phung has plead not guilty.
Anyone who has sat in a chair and gambled away precious dollars certainly understands the feelings that Phung endured before the attack, and while he faces criminal charges, he will be applauded by many gamblers who have had the urge to put one of these slot machines in its place.
