Iowa Waiting On Study To Complete Casino Project
Add Iowa to the list of states who will soon be expanding their gambling options. The state had voters in Lyon County vote in favor or bringing a casino to the area. The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of the casino expansion.
There is some business to still take care of, however, before the casino begins being built. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is waiting for a gambling study to be completed before they move forward with the project.
The study is tentatively scheduled to be completed between April and June of 2009. Once complete, the Commission will review the study and decide on the best plan to bring the casino to fruition.
"The next step is dependant on the study," said administrator for the Commission, Jack Ketterer. Kehl Management is the group that is building the casino, and their Chief Executive Officer, Dan Kehl claims that they are fine with waiting for the study to be complete.
Kehl also said the group is looking forward to building the casino and hopes the study is done as soon as possible. The total time of the construction is thought to be about fifteen months. That means that residents of Iowa will most likely begin enjoying the casino in 2010.
