Jessica Simpson Gambling On Another NFL Player, Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson will forever be in the heads of NFL gamblers and Dallas Cowboys fans. Simpson was dating quarterback Tony Romo when the two took a vacation during the Cowboys bye week before the playoffs several years ago.

Dallas went on to lose that playoff game, and there were questions surrounding why Romo made the choice to vacation before the season was over. Simpson is the link that bettors and those Cowboys fans were glad to see gone by the time the next football season had rolled around.

Now, Simpson is again trying her hand at romance with a former NFL player. Sources closed to Simpson have confirmed that the singer is romantically involved with former San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Johnson. With Simpson heading towards her thirtieth birthday, a lasting relationship may be in the cards.

Simpson has not had the easiest time of things when it comes to her relationships. Her first marriage to Nick Lachey ended in 2006, after the couple had spent several seasons with a reality show on VH1. Then, Simpson dated Romo, but that too ended in disaster.

The source who confirmed the relationship with Johnson to PEOPLE, claims that the couple is happy. Simpson has stated publicly in the past couple of months how she feels that her next year will be one of her best.

Simpson was recently on hand when The Greenbrier, one of the most historic resorts in the world, opened their new underground casino in West Virginia. Simpson joined other celebrities in celebrating the grand opening. Johnson filed for divorce from his wife back in February.
