In Kansas, they are sifting through proposals trying to find the right fit for their new casinos. The Cordish Company and Kansas Speedway proposal has so far blown away the competition.

The proposal for a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino would come at a price tag of $700 million, but would have no public incentives. The projected money that could be generated if the proposal is approved would be astronomical.

In addition to the proposal for the Hard Rock, which would be 1.5 million square feet of entertainment, dining, shopping, and gambling, the Kansas Speedway also announced they would seek a second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series date.

"Kansas Speedway and The Cornish Company have already shown a tremendous commitment to this region, having invested hundreds of millions of dollars in two of the most successful regional destinations in the country, the Kansas Speedway and the Kansas City Power & Light District," said Chairman of The Cordish Company, David Cordish.

The Hard Rock would feature a live music venue included in 275,000 square feet of dining and shopping options. The casino would have 140 table games, 3,000 slot machines, and a 300 room hotel. The cost of the project is estimated at $700 million.

If approved, the Hard Rock would bring in an estimated $4.86 billion for the state over a twenty year period.
