Kansas Speedway Sweetens Casino Deal With Addition of Road Coarse
The companies in Kansas have stopped at almost nothing in the process to secure a bid to run a casino in the state. On Monday, the Kansas Speedway sweetened their deal to the state by announcing they will add a road course to its infield if they are chosen for the casino.
The Speedway has already said it would seek an additional NASCAR Sprint Cup series race. They made that announcement a couple of weeks ago.
On Monday, they went even farther by agreeing to add a road course. They are one of four applicants that are trying to win the casino in Wyandotte County.
The decision has already been made late last week in other counties in the state. Penn National Gaming won the rights to the Cherokee County casino, and Harrah's Entertainment, despite a pending lawsuit, won the rights in Sumner County.
Wyandotte and Ford counties will have to wait a little longer to find out who will be running their casinos. September 18th and 19th is when that decision will be made.
The state is awarding four casinos, which should help with funding for the state budget. Kansas is one of many states that are turning to casino gambling to bail them out in these tough economic times.
