Lady Luck Casino May Stop Mob Museum Process In Las Vegas

It may have been lucky back in the day, but all the Lady Luck Casino in Las Vegas is doing these days is collecting dust and putting its owners in a tough position. The owners of the casino have been warned to clean up the abandoned casino or risk losing land for their mob museum.

The mob museum would pay tribute to the gangster life that made Las Vegas what it is today. While many of the mobsters have been replaced by corporate owners, the connection still exists between Las Vegas and organized crime.

Standing in the way of that museum, however, is Lady Luck. The casino was closed down three years ago for renovations that have never taken place. Now, city officials are threatening the CIM Group, which owns Lady Luck. Either they clean up the eye-soar, or they lose their land for the museum.

The agreement that is in place states that the group needs to begin the $100 million renovation that was promised for Lady Luck by late December. If they do not comply, they will be taking a chance that the city may pull the land set aside for the mob museum.

The hold up, according to the CIM Group, is the current economy. They have been assessing the situation and trying to figure out a way to deal with the economic conditions as they relate to Lady Luck. There is an unfinished building that needs to be torn down, and trash is accumulating around the casino site.

The mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar Goodman, has already instructed city officials to check for code violations at Lady Luck. The city appears to be serious about cleaning up the property and they have the land collateral to ensure the job gets done.
