Las Vegas Casino Bringing Style And Flair To The Strip

Bigger is better is the theme that Las Vegas has used in recent years to try and dig out of the economic recession. First it was the CityCenter project, and then the Cosmopolitan that was supposed to revive gaming in the city.

Neither CityCenter, owned by MGM Mirage and Dubai World, nor the Cosmopolitan, have lived up to expectations in terms of bringing back customers. With the city still struggling, the Plaza Hotel Casino will take their chances with some new ideas. The Plaza is opening up a high end bottle club and a new salon.

The bottle club, named the Swingers Club, will feature several different aspects of daytime life in Las Vegas, and mix them with the nightlife. A mini-golf course will be inside, along with a piano bar, will be featured at the new club that is the brain child of Las Vegas entertainer Anthony Cools.

The nightclub is not the only venture that Cools is involved with. The entertainer is also the brains behind the new salon, which will feature hair stylists that will give customers their haircuts while wearing lingerie and bikinis. It is part of the overall movement in Las Vegas and Atlantic City towards a more racy atmosphere.

Resorts, the oldest casino in Atlantic City, recently went through a transformation under the direction of casino mogul Dennis Gomes. The renovated Resorts has a prohibition era theme, modeled after the popular HBO series Boardwalk Empire. The waitresses at Resorts now wear much sexier outfits than in the past.

In addition to the theme change, Resorts has also created the first gay nightclub at a New Jersey casino. It has become clear to many analysts that Resorts, and now the Plaza, are going with a "sex sells" theme. The hair cuts at the new Exposed salon will start at $50, and will primarily cater to male customers.

The salon and the nightclub are only a couple of the renovations the Plaza has made. The casino will reopen in September, and 800 employees are being hired before the facility opens to the public. Go-Go restaurant Hash House has announced they will be opening one of their chains in the Plaza as well.
