The Las Vegas Strip is known for many things. Above all else, it is known for being a cash cow for casinos that reside in the area. That is not the case in the past year.

Once again the Las Vegas Strip had their revenue numbers decrease after the July figures were released. Revenue dropped for the seventh straight month, and the casinos are now beginning to worry.

The casino industry is one that has never experienced the troubles of the economy along with other industries. They have managed to make money in even the toughest of economic times, but that is not the case this year.

With fuel prices hitting all time highs, people simply do not have the money to pay high prices for airline flights. Travel in general has become near impossible because of the gas prices.

People are also losing their jobs. Many companies have scaled back their operations to try and survive, and that has left Las Vegas to wonder how long it will be before their customers start coming back.

Gambling revenue on the Las Vegas Strip dropped to $519.2 million. That is a decline of fifteen percent, not the news that casino operators were looking for when the numbers were released.
