Las Vegas, Nevada Ruling Makes Sin City A Little Less Sinful
Thursday of last week the Las Vegas strip club industry took a blow from the Nevada Supreme Court. The supreme court ruling reversed two lower court rulings that allowed close contact from stripper to patron protected by the First Amendment.
The high court ruling said that the overturned law that said no physical contact of a sexual nature is allowed with customers, protects society by curtailing prostitution, STD's, drug offenses and other criminal activity.
The significance of the blow to Las Vegas, otherwise known as Sin City, will remain to be seen. The city is world recognized as a place to go for gambling, and also for other 'adult' entertainment.
The decision by the Nevada Supreme Court that disallows erotic sexual contact is similar to a bill in California that makes it illegal for a stripper to come within 2 feet of a customer while giving a dance. However, Seattle voters shot down a measure on Tuesday's ballot that would have required a 4 foot distance between dancer and patron.
It appears Sin City has become a little bit less sinful, or so the ruling goes.
