Pinnacle Announces Plans of New Riverboat Casino for 2009
Casino operator Pinnacle Entertainment says it will build a 350 million dollar riverboat casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Construction on the property, called "Sugarcane Bay," is expected to begin next year.
It is to open in 2009. The property will have a 4-hundred-room hotel, 15-hundred slot machines, a poker room and table games. It is to replace the hurricane-damaged property that Pinnacle acquired from Harrah's Entertainment in a swap it announced last month.
Pinnacle paid Harrah's 25 million dollars for the Lake Charles property while giving up its hurricane damaged property in Biloxi, Mississippi. The new casino is subject to approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
