Lollapalooza 2010 Under Way; Gamblers Head To Illinois Casinos

USA Players Accepted at Rome Casino!

Grant Park may be the scene of the biggest music festival of the summer, but it is the surrounding casinos that will make out thanks to the large crowds expected. On Friday, thousands of gamblers hit Illinois casinos such as Harrah's Casino Joliet and Horseshoe Casino Hammond after attending the first night of Lollapalooza 2010.

Music fans young and old have traveled to Chicago this week in preparation of the Lollapalooza concert. On Friday, Devo, The Strokes, and Soundgarden all performed and were at the top of their musical game.

The end of the first night was punctuated by a brilliant performance by none other than Lady Gaga. If the first day was any indication of things to come, music lovers should have one crazy weekend ahead of them. Once the concert had concluded for the night, the crowd started trickling out of Grant Park.

The long night may have sent some fans to their hotel rooms for the evening, but others were prepared to go out partying and enjoying all that Illinois has to offer. Among the most popular destinations were the casinos in the state.

"I only come to Chicago once in a while to visit my cousins," said Mario Benedetto. "I'm here for Lollapalooza, but I am also going to spend some time in the casinos. Hopefully I can win some money on the slots to pay for the trip. If not, at least I'm having a good time, good music, good gambling, and good times with my family."

Benedetto was only one of the thousands of people who are expected to travel through the Illinois casinos' doors this weekend. Lollapalooza 2010 goes through Sunday. Among the acts that will hit the stage this weekend are Social Distortion, The Black Keys, and Green Day. In all, dozens of bands will entertain the crowds at Grant Park.
