Lottery Jackpot Winner Goes Back To Work Eighteen Months Later
People do funny things when they gamble on the lottery and win big jackpots. One of the things that is not usually part of the celebration is going back to work. That is what millionaire Luke Pittard has done.
Pittard was a staff trainer at McDonald's when he won the lottery. He quit his job and has enjoyed his winnings for about eighteen months. He was married in November, but now felt like it was time to go back to work.
So he returned to his job at McDonald's two days a week. The money is no longer the issue. He makes more in interest on his lottery winnings than he does working, but the lure of friendships brought him back.
"They all think I'm a bit mad but I tell them there's more to life than money. I loved working for McDonald's before I became a millionaire and I'm really enjoying being back there again," said Pittard.
The ironic part to his going back to work is his age. He is twenty five. Most of his peers his age would be living it up if they won the lottery. Pittard, however, continues on with the life he had before the money.
He lives with his wife, who also worked at McDonald's, and their three year old daughter. "Lots of my old workmates came to our wedding and I kept in touch with them all the time, so I just thought:'Why not go back?'," he said.
