Louisiana Casino Gambling Revenue Increases In October

USA Players Accepted at Rome Casino!

Louisiana casinos have joined the likes of other top gambling destinations by experiencing a revenue decrease in October over the previous year. The news was not all bad, however, with revenue increasing from september to October.

In October, revenue at Louisiana casinos was up 2.7 percent compared to September. The actual figure of $193 million was up from the $187 million that the casinos took in back in September. The year over year figures were still down, as was the case in most states.

For October of 2008, $207 million in revenue was made at Louisiana casinos. Although there was a decrease from 2008, there is still hope that the recession problems that casinos have experienced is starting to subside.

"What we are now seeing is that casinos around the US are srtaing to get their customers back," said Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz, "It may take a few more months, but slowly the casino gambling industry is recovering, and that is being met with smiles at casinos throughout the country."

Atlantic City and Las Vegas, the two biggest gambling draws in the country, are still reeling. AC casinos have reported a double digit decrease in revenue for the third quarter. Several casinos in Atlantic City have defaulted on loans and others are in the process of restructuring.
