Margaritaville Casino Moving Forward In Atlantic City
Trump Marina Hotel Casino will now officially be changed into a Margaritaville themed casino. The project secured the final funding needed to move forward and complete the project.
The casino renovation is part of a much broader plan by Atlantic City to regain their position as the top casino gambling destination on the East Coast. They have not had that title in quite some time.
Governments leaders were on hand on Saturday morning as Richard T. Fields, Chairman of Coastal development LLC, announced that they had secured the final $301 million that was needed for the project to be complete. They had a deadline of October 28th to secure the funding.
"Fields also announced that the casino would remain open while the construction is going on to renovate. The developer will not make the same mistake that Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. made when they closed the Sands casino Hotel back in 2006.
"We want to keep as many of the hotel staff working as well because when Atlantic City succeeds and New Jersey succeeds, I believe we all succeed," said Fields.
The city is now continuing to move in the direction that they envisioned when they started the reclamation projects a few years ago.
