Massachusetts Lottery Gambling On The Red Sox With New Ticket
The Boston Red Sox are one of the most popular baseball organizations in the league. Their fans used to be known for their loyalty to a team that did not do much winning.
Now, they have won a few championships lately, and are considered a model franchise in the sport of baseball. The lottery in their home state is trying to cash in on the teams popularity.
Massachusetts is a state that had its leaders, as recently as last week, shoot down a proposal from their Governor. The proposal was to allow for three casino licenses in the state, to raise revenue.
While that idea was a no go, the lottery has come up with a new scratch off gambling ticket that they hope will generate $23 million.
The lottery has unveiled a $20 Red Sox scratch off ticket. They will begin to be sold on opening day for the Sox at home, on April 8th.
The expectation is that the ten million tickets that were printed will be gone by the end of the year. The grand prize will be $10 million.
The lottery is also rapping up a $5 ticket promotion that started a couple years ago. The grand prize from that ticket will be Red Sox season tickets for life.
