Meadows Racetrack And Casino Opens To Gamblers On Wednesday
Get ready Pennsylvania. A new casino is set to be opened this week in Washington, Pennsylvania. The Meadows Racetrack and Casino is preparing to hold their grand opening festivities this Wednesday morning.
The Racetrack has been operating a temporary casino waiting for the permanent casino to be complete. This will be a busy week for all involved starting on Monday when the temporary casino closes its doors.
At 5:59 AM Monday, the temporary casino will close in order for final preparations to be completed at the permanent facility. The preparations will continue through Tuesday, and on Wednesday at 9:30 AM, the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place for the new casino.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board must still approve the new casino before the grand opening can take place. The Racetrack is hoping that approval comes either Monday or Tuesday.
The temporary casino has been open since 2007, but it is nothing compared to the new casino. VIP sky-boxes, boutique style bowling lanes, eight restaurants, and over 3,500 slot machines will be part of the new facility. It will also have a new grandstand.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has been busy this past year. The state has expanded their casino options not only with the Meadows facility, but also casinos that are being built in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
