Mega Millions Lottery Jackpot Just Under $50 Million For Tonight
The Powerball and Mega Millions Lottery jackpots have taken turns throughout the year at trying to reach $100 million. This week, neither lottery will see a jackpot that high.
That is not to say that the jackpot for tonight's Mega Millions is anything that is skimpy. If there is a grand prize winner tonight, they will walk away with the grand prize of $45 million.
Already this year, the Mega Millions has seen its jackpot reach over the $100 million mark. It actually happened twice near the beginning of the year, but lately people have been getting a little bit luckier.
As the jackpots grow for these multi-state lotteries, more people go out and buy tickets. While they start off slow, the jackpots tend to pick up steam as they get closer to the $100 million mark.
Outside of the multi-state lotteries, it is the Sunshine State who currently holds the highest Lotto in the country. Florida's big lottery game has a jackpot of $25 million for Saturday night's draw.
Lotto Texas is right behind with a grand prize of $24 million. Their drawing will also be held on Saturday. After those two states, the next highest jackpot is in California. Their Superlotto Plus has a top prize payout of $9 million.
