The MGM Grand casino will have their grand opening at Foxwoods this weekend. The festivities are being protested by disgruntled workers.

On Saturday and Sunday, workers will be voicing their displeasure with Foxwoods for not negotiating for a union contract. The workers claim that conditions have been deteriorating even more since dealers voted to unionize.

"We're glad we could reach an agreement on this event that works for everyone. We're glad to be there, we protected our first amendment rights, and we are confident we will get our message out," said Director of UAW Region 9a, Bob Madore.

The festivities this weekend are set to be a red carpet affair. Sean "Diddy" Combs will be hosting the after party to the event at Shrine Nightclub. Other stars that will be in attendance will be Michael Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta Jones. Jamie Lynn Sigler will also be there.

John Mayer and other artists are prepared to perform at the grand opening on Saturday night. Josh Grobin will be among the other performers.

The workers union and Foxwoods have been at odds since the dealers decision to unionize. Workers claim that conditions have gotten worse, not better, since they unionized.
