MGM Grand Casino Opening Brings Stars Out Over The Weekend
The MGM Grand casino at Foxwoods held its grand opening over the weekend. The casino was filled with stars from different areas such as music and film to celebrate the event.
The MGM spared no expense to make the grand opening as glitzy as possible. With stars who are actually from Connecticut, it was easy to convince people to attend and perform at the grand opening ceremonies.
"If you put me in a box and dropped me off here I would know I am in Connecticut. There is something special about Connecticut, a patina," said native John Mayer. He was one of the performers at the event.
Other performers included Sean "Diddy" Combs, who hosted an after party for the grand opening. Kim Kardashian, Jenny McCarthy, and Alicia Keys were also in attendance.
The grand opening was held to benefit the Motion Picture and Television Fund. "This is an organization where we take care of our own," said actor Michael Douglas, who attended the event with wife Katherine Zeta-Jones.
There was protesting going on throughout the weekend from the workers of Foxwoods. They claim that working conditions have gotten worse since they decided to unionize back in November of last year.
