MGM Planning To Follow The Yellow Brick Road To Casino in Kansas
MGM Mirage is currently expanding in several different areas in the United States, and their latest idea is to put a casino in the state that made The Wizard of Oz famous, Kansas.
Dorothy would not have known what to do had she walked into the proposed casino resort from MGM, but she would be staring at a resort that included 50 table games, 2,000 slot machines, and a 250 room hotel.
MGM will be entering in a joint venture with Foxwoods Development Co., and the group plans to submit their application on Tuesday to the Kansas Lottery Commission.
Also partnering on the project would be the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, and Chisholm Creek Ventures LLC. The new casino would bring between 1,425 and 1,475 new jobs to whatever area they decide on.
So far, the group has considered their options from Wellington to Mulvane, and it appears that Mulvane would be the area to generate the greatest revenue, and although that is not the only reason for choosing a site, it could be a reason that weighs heavily in the groups final decision.
