Michigan Indian Tribe Replacing Victories Casino
A Michigan indian tribe will open a new casino gambling, dining and entertainment site in Emmet County's Resort Township in summer 2007. The new casino named Odawa Casino Resort will replace the smaller Victories Casino.
"Victories was only meant to be a temporary facility," general manager Barry Milligan told the Petoskey News-Review. "It served us very well, and we want people to know it's a clean break, a new environment and a new look."
The tribe will phase out advertising for Victories while transferring employees and supplies to the new gambling casino over the coming year. Billboards, letterheads, business cards and playing cards will have to be changed, casino spokeswoman Diane Bott said.
The indian tribe plans to hire about 250 new employees when the new casino gambling site opens.
