Miss. Approves Two Gambling Sites

Voted Top Online Casino Several Years in a Row!

Isle of Capri Casinos and Foxwoods Development had their proposed casino sites approved by the Mississippi Gaming Commission this week. Isle of Capri wants to build a $250 to $300 million development at the western end of Harrison County near Interstate 10, while Foxwoods will spend $400 million or more, including a $1 billion-plus development on the Biloxi Broadwater property.

Foxwoods is owned by the Manshantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. It's acquiring about 16 acres from Roy Anderson and W.C. "Cotton" Fore to put the resort at the site of the old Broadwater Hotel. The Isle intends to build a 94,000-square-foot or larger casino that could generate annual gambling taxes of $13. 5 million to the state.

It would employ 1,500 and would be the first to open in unincorporated Harrison County. Treasure Bay was also given approval by the gaming commission on Thursday to open its temporary casino in its hotel next week.
