New Casino In Arizona To Be Completed By Gala River Next Month
The Western part of the US has become a hotbed for casino gambling. California and Arizona have been expanding their casino options at a record pace, and at the end of October the latest casino in Arizona is expected to be open.
The Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino, which will be located just South of Ahwatukee, is on target to open on October 30th. While it will be a new casino facility, it is simply replacing the older version down the road.
The casino will gain much of its customers during spring training games. Major League Baseball teams have long preferred the weather in Arizona, and several teams' spring training facilities are located near the new casino. There are also the locals that should support the new casino.
"Even in this economy, we have not had much of a struggle," said Wild Horse Pass general manager John Strauss, "People are already starting to book rooms for spring training next year."
Casinos in the state of Arizona have had a brutal time trying to weather the economic storm of the past couple of years. Across the state, revenue is down sixteen percent, according to Strauss. Still, he claims that the Wild Horse Pass has not fell off from previous revenue figures.
While the new casino is expected to open on time, construction workers, over 1,000 of them, are working feverishly to make sure the project is completed by the target date.
