New Forms Of Gambling Coming To Lithuania
Lithuania has watched as other countries have successfully expanded their gambling laws. The increase in revenue in these countries has made many others consider expanding their laws.
Lithuania did just that on Friday. They licensed Baltic Bet, a company that plans on allowing Lithuanians the opportunity to bet on dog and horse races that are taking place in other countries.
While most countries are moving towards full casino gambling, Lithuania is starting from the bottom up. They are issuing the license for Baltic Bet in hopes that there will be increased interest in betting through the company.
"This will be English-style betting. People will watch, on TV, races taking place in other countries and place bets," said the Director of Baltic Bets, Simas Denisovas. Eventually, the company is hoping to expand beyond horse and dog racing options.
Baltic Bet has already began plans to open slot machine halls in Lithuania. Vilnius is the first location for the dog and horse racing gambling, but the company is already looking to expand into Estonia, Latvia, and other Lithuanian cities.
