MGM Mirage has finally received some good news over the past couple of weeks and just when things appeared to be turning around, another bombshell was dropped. The gaming authorities in New jersey are now pressuring the company to cut ties with a Macau partner.

Pansy Ho is now considered "unsuitable", according to the Division of Gaming Enforcement. They made their ruling because of allegations around Ho's father, Stanley Ho. Although Pansy Ho claims that she is independent of her father, New jersey officials did not buy her statements.

The investigation into MGM's Macau dealings began back in 2005. Th report now makes for an interesting choice for MGM. They are, however, planning to present their side of the argument to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.

"While we disagree with the recommendation of the DGE, we look forward to presenting our position at the hearing," said MGM Mirage, in a statement.

If the Commission backs the finding of the report, MGM then will have to decide whether to cut their ties to Macau, or with New Jersey. They own the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, which happens to be the most popular casino in Atlantic City.

The company was non-committal about which property they would give up. They have long ties to Atlantic City, but the area has gone downhill in the past few years. The more profitable venture could end up being in Macau.
