New Slot Machines A Big Hit At Florida Seminole Casinos

The fever in Florida gambling circles has centered around blackjack for the past year at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. There are other casino games, however, that are starting to steal the spotlight in the casino.

New Vegas-style slot machines are receiving great reviews from players. The games are high-tech, and some even feature chairs that vibrate and contain Bose sound systems.

One of these games is the new Wizard of Oz slots at the Hard Rock. A player sits in the chair and is constantly pampered with the sounds of the game from behind their ears on the chair. Once in the bonus round, the game plays out more like a video game than a slot machine.

Another game that has similar interaction is the James Bond slots. Once in the bonus round of this slot, a player is taken on a high speed chase where they constantly have to hit buttons and shoot enemies.

For each enemy hit, a bonus is rewarded, all the while the sound and visual effects are keeping the player glued to the screen. These games have captured the imagination of many slot players in recent months.

"I play the slots now more than I ever have before," said Byron Valkan, a player who claims to play these new slots a couple of times a week at the Hard Rock, "They are just so realistic, it's like playing a video game, only one where you can win money."

The blackjack has been receiving most of the publicity surrounding the new compact signed by the Seminole Indian tribe and Governor Charlie Crist. It is the slots, however, that could have the biggest impact on the future of gaming in Florida.

"These Vegas-style slots give the casino a chance to bring in some of the most advanced slot machines on the market today," said observer Neil Bluhm, "With the graphics and other innovations that slot manufacturers are coming up with today, the player is now almost always entertained when they play slots."
