Atlantic City Casinos Prepare For Holiday Weekend
It's a busy week in Atlantic City. On Tuesday, the Pier at Caesars opened its doors. Some 30 retailers, many of them upscale, hope to take advantage of the extended July 4th holiday weekend.
Caesars launched its Asian area Wednesday. The East Palace and Asian Restaurant KWI is located on the first floor casino. And Friday, the Borgata's first expansion opens to the world, with fine dining at Bobby Flay Steak, Wolfgang Puck American Grille and SeaBlue by Michael Mina.
The new addition also features a rather lofty food court if your tastes are more toward fast dining. Two lounges, mur.mur and Level One, round out the new entertainment opportunities. On the gambling side, there are more slots and more table games with another 36,120 square feet of casino gambling floor space, and a brand new poker room.
The 85-table, 21,500 square-foot poker room will feature an 18-table High Limit Room offering food service; a nine-table tournament area offering bleacher seating for tournament viewing that can be partitioned off as a "reserved" poker area, and a 58-table Main Poker Room offering live poker action outfitted with plasma televisions. Games include all variations of Texas Hold'em, Seven-Card Stud and Omaha.
These come on the heels of the Memorial Day opening of the 22 House of Blues suites at Showboat. The suites feature butler service, king-sized beds and glass enclosed showers with multi-jet spray. Get centered with a 360- degree conversation zone, cozy fireplace and 42-inch plasma screen.
