Ohio Will See Full Casinos in Cleveland if Issue 3 Passes
Ohio casino supporters are getting excited as the election approaches because Issue 3 on their ballot, if approved, would allow slot machines at seven horse tracks around the state and would also allow two full casinos to be opened in Cleveland.
Cleveland and Cuyahoga County have pushed legalized casino gambling in Ohio, and the Cleveland area will benefit most; however, it is projected that all state municipalities would share in the wealth.
It is estimated that Cincinnati and Hamilton County would receive $22 million each year to their general fund and over $100 million each year would go to local developers.
The group promoting the amendment, Learn and Earn, believes adding the thousands of slots and two casinos in Ohio could generate nearly $853 million a year for college scholarships.
The bill has garnered much support over the past months and odds are that it might pass because of the safeguards included in the bill to protect the funds from going places it shouldn't.
