Over 30 Charged With Illegal Gambling Operation
More than 30 people have been charged with running an illegal gambling operation in Austin. It's called "Operation Casino Flush", and police say the suspects were doing everything from gambling, to money laundering to organized crime. Records from their 8-liner machines show that over $15 million went through this group over a two-year period.
"Most of that money will probably be unrecoverable as far as I know the IRS has made numerous attempts to try and find bank accounts that will indicate that money is still here it's been a year now and nearly and I double that many more accounts will be forthcoming," Austin police commander Harold Piatt said.
