Philadelphia Anti-Casino Groups Resorting To Childish Measures

Philadelphia is going to have two new casinos. Anti-casino groups believe they are going to stop the casinos from being built, but both projects are already in the works.

The anti-casino groups have now taken to the streets to have their voices heard,even though the prospects of them stopping the new casinos are small. They have set up shop at a command center, and have created a circus to make sure that everyone knows what they stand for.

The command center for the circuses will be across from the proposed site of Foxwoods project. The groups that are staging the opposition have given clever names to their efforts.

The Amazing Two-Faced Mayor, the Invisible Plan, and the Foxwoods Shell Game, where will it land was the name of the circus acts. The circus came complete with a master of ceremonies, and many big red noses. it was a most unusual of protests.

Asian Americans United and Casino Free Philadelphia were the main groups that have united to try and stop the casino expansion. They received a major blow this week when city officials approved a new design for the SugarHouse Casino in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia.

The Foxwoods project is being proposed for what used to be known as the Strawbridge & Casino Clothier building across from Market Street. Both of the casino projects have had a difficult time in the city.

The two developers have had to ask for court's assistance in moving the permit process along. The city has been slow to act on the permits that have been requested, and the state has ordered the city to move along with the process.
