Pinnacle Entertainment's River City Casino Opens In St. Louis

Pinnacle entertainment has had somewhat of a rocky relationship with Missouri gaming regulators, but on Friday it was all smiles for members of the Gaming Board and the company. The River City Casino finally was opened to the public.

In recent months, Pinnacle has been battling with gaming regulators over the President Casino, which Pinnacle also owns in St. Louis. Regulators have taken steps to shut down the President, and Pinnacle is fighting the Gaming Board in court to keep the casino open.

Friday, however, was a scene of joy around the River City Casino. Thousands of residents waited patiently to see what the new facility looked like on the inside. it is estimated that over 20,000 people attended the casino on its first day open.

"This is a great day for the city of St. Louis," said Marion Valdez, "With all of the casinos in the city, we now have another option. Each casino has a different feel to it, and it is great that we have choices."

Pinnacle invested nearly $400 million into the facility. There is new entertainment and dining options for people in South St. Louis County, and the town could not be happier to be home to the new casino. Out of all the amenities that people raved about on the first day, the adjustable, ergonomic chairs at the table games and slots were tops on the list.

The dining options include a Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, Burger Brothers, Judy's Velvet Lounge, and The Great Food Exposition. BarCentral and the 1904 Beerhouse provide the cocktails for patrons of River City.
