Pinnacle Missouri Casino To Open In March, Ahead Of Projections
Pinnacle Entertainment brought some early holiday cheer to the people of Missouri on Monday morning. Pinnacle announced that they will be opening their River City Casino several months earlier than expected.
The casino will be located in Lemay, Missouri, and will have a 90,000 square foot casino. Several restaurants will also be part of the facility, which was expected to open on June 1st. The new target date is March of 2010.
The opening date being moved up is a big deal for St. Louis County. It is estimated that the casino will bring in $1.25 million a month. That is around $4 million extra that will be brought in with the additional three months of operation in 2010.
Since it will be the first year of operations, the county had a difficult time attempting to figure out how much revenue the casino would bring the state. Now, with the extra three months, it is more likely that the projections for the county's cut of the revenue will be on target.
Pinnacle Entertainment has been one of the many gaming companies that has been hurt by the economic recession in the US. The company has casinos in Indiana, Missouri, Louisiana, and Nevada. They also have a casino in Argentina.
