Pinnacle's Casino Blueprints Approved In Louisiana
In the face of one of the worst economic meltdowns in United States history, Pinnacle Entertainment is getting ready to begin construction on a new casino in Louisiana. On Tuesday, the first step was taken towards making that casino a reality.
Pinnacle submitted their blueprints for the new casino to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. The blueprints were approved by the board and now the next step in the process will begin.
Pinnacle will have 120 days to negotiate construction contracts. The contracts must be signed and submitted within that time frame. Once submitted and approved, the company will then have thirty days to begin construction of the casino project.
East Baton Rouge Parish voters approved the new casino back in February of this year. The public approved a $250 million project and that will be what is required of Pinnacle.
While other companies are scaling back their expansion efforts, Pinnacle is moving forward with the Louisiana project. The casino, which is set to open in late 2010, could help the struggling casino industry in the state.
