Planet Hollywood Casino Nightclubs Lose Liquor License

Prive nightclub is a place where many of the top celebrities in the world could be found on any given night. The club is not owned by Planet Hollywood, but since it resides in Planet Hollywood, the casino is responsible for what goes on at the club.

Apparently what was going on was a little too much for the Clark County Business License Department. The Department has denied a request for a liquor license, and Prive has been ordered to close down by this Tuesday.

"The evidence of improper management oversight and disregard for the duties of the licensee is overwhelming and points to only one decision, denial of a liquor license," said Jacqueline Holloway, Director of the Clark County Business Licence Department, "We expect consistent compliance and cooperation from our privileged licensees for the benefit of our citizens."

The denial of the liquor license is a big blow to Planet Hollywood. Although they do not own the club, or the Living Room, which also was denied a license, the clubs were used as a way to bring people into the casino. Now, The Opium Group, which owns Prive, has thirty days to appeal the license decision.

The clubs had been in trouble with the Business License Department for a while. They were cited because of several violations, some of which include nudity and reckless disorder. Security at the club has been accused of stalling compliance inspections, and underage drinking was a problem.
