Powerball Jackpot Finally Cracked By Ticket in West Virginia
The Powerball Lottery jackpot has been growing for nearly two months. If nobody held the winning ticket after Saturday's draw, the figure would have risen to over $300 million.
That will not take place, however, after it was announced that someone had finally hit the jackpot. The winning ticket was sold in West Virginia, but the whereabouts was not known.
Many people were close during the nearly two months that nobody hit the jackpot. People from all over had claimed the second prize for matching all five numbers without the Powerball.
Once again on Saturday there were many tickets that almost won the jackpot. Twelve tickets had all five numbers correct, but did not match the Powerball. They each will receive $200,000.
Only one person is holding the winning ticket, however. The numbers that were matched by the lucky person were 6-22-42-43-47. The Powerball number was 16.
The winner, once they come forward with the winning ticket, will receive the jackpot prize of $275 million. Taxes will have to be deducted from the total, but the person will still walk away a multi millionaire.
