President Casino Looking For Approval To Move In Missouri
Pinnacle Entertainment has been in the casino gaming business for a long time now, and they can detect a problem when they see it. That is why the parent company of the President Casino in Missouri is asking for permission to move their gambling operation.
The President casino has one of thirteen gaming licenses that are available in the state. They are asking the Missouri Gaming Commission for the right to move or rebuild the President Casino.
The casino has had a problem with flooding. It has had to close several times because of flooding, and also has laid off seventy-five workers in the past year. The layoffs are from a combination of competition and the flooding.
Interestingly, the competition comes from another of Pinnacle's casinos. Lumiere Place was opened in St. Louis, and it has been draining customers from President Casino. Due to the decrease in revenue, the casino has also cut its operating hours.
The Chain of Rocks Bridge is the destination that Pinnacle would like to move the President Casino to. The Commission will decide on Tuesday whether or not it will be feasible to allow the move. The casino had revenue drop almost twenty percent in the second quarter, to $4.9 million.
