Revel Entertainment Ready To Add 12th Casino To Atlantic City
Atlantic City used to be the place where the famed Rat Pack called home, a place where people would come from all over to enjoy their luxurious casinos, and high rollers would leave wads of money behind.
Now the City in New Jersey is trying to rebuild some of that past magic as they have done away with the old casinos in favor of new more upscale casino resorts.
Revel Entertainment is the latest group to receive preliminary site plan approval from the city's zoning board, meaning that they may now move forward on building what they believe will be a casino resort that will draw crowds to the area.
The casino resort is set to be located next to the Showboat casino and will feature two hotel towers that will be the tallest in the state.
A mezzanine level will be included in the 150,000 square feet of casino space, and the resort will also feature entertainment and retail space, a 5,500 seat theatre, spa, and several dining options.
Revel CEO had this to say about the complex, "This is really being built as a resort and entertainment experience as opposed to a casino."
Atlantic City is hoping that the Revel project, which is part of a huge overhaul in the city that could cost $10 billion, can bring back tourists to a city that used to dominate the tourism industry.
