Rivers Casino Brings In First Shipment Of Slot Machines
The city of Pittsburgh has patiently been waiting for casino gambling to arrive in the form of the Rivers Casino. While the gaming is not here, the first installment of the slot machines took place on Monday morning.
The excitement of the new casino came on Monday with the idea that they have installed the state's first slot machine with a wager of $500. That is something that will make the casino stand out from the rest.
Also on Monday, 277 more slot machines were delivered. State Gaming Control Board member Sanford Rivers, along with casino officials, installed the first machine at the Rivers Casino. It was a Mr. Cashman game, which is a popular casino slot around the country.
"We have been waiting a long time for this casino to be built, and it is nice to see that they are making progress," said Pennsylvania resident Joe Russo, "It will be even better when they finally open the casino for good."
Rivers is expected to open on August 5th. That leaves just under three months for the completion of the construction and the installation of the rest of the slot machines. Almost half of the machines are going to be penny or two-cent games.
The casino will offer much more than just slot machines. It will have a 450 seat buffet on the second floor that will overlook the Ohio River. It also will have other dining and entertainment options.
