Robin Hood Gambler Takes Las Vegas To Needy families
Most high rollers that come through Las Vegas are known to be greedy and needy. There is one, however, that is using his blackjack gambling skills to help families with an unbearable amount of debt.
The gambler, known only as Robin Hood, runs a website where he encourages families to send in their stories of how they became overwhelmed with debt. he then sifts through the thousands of stories to find one that touches his heart.
The most recent family to receive help was the Kegler's, from Michigan. Kurt and Megan had $35,000 in debt thanks to medical bills that accumulated while their toddler had brain cancer. Robin Hood came to the rescue.
The gambler, who is known around Las Vegas as a sharp gambler who does not drink alcohol, flew the couple out to Las Vegas for a lavish weekend. He told the couple that he would be winning them the money to pay for their debt.
In the event that Robin Hood does not win, he guarantees the family at least half of their debt. In this case, the gambler did not fare so well, he lost hundreds of thousands playing blackjack. When he won back $35,000, he gave it to the family.
During their stay in Las Vegas, the Kegler's experienced the finer things in the city. They were treated to lavish dinners, a suite, and Vegas shows, all at the expense of Robin Hood. The casinos in Las Vegas would not participate in the adventure.
The gambler, whose real name is kept secret because he does not want the fame that comes with his good deeds, also has been known to hand out $100 bills on the Las Vegas Strip. He has done several interviews, but his face must always be shadowed out in the interview.
"I'm going to take the dark side associated with gambling and use it for good," said Robin Hood, to London's daily telegraph.
