Schwarzenegger Leading The Way Into Casino Era In United States

If there is one politician in the country that should be credited with the rapid growth of the casino industry in the United States, it is California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is signing Indian tribe casino compacts on what seems like an every month basis.

Whether Schwarzenegger is signing the compacts because he is heavily in favor of casino gambling, or whether he is doing it because he knows the money he can bring to his state, it does not matter.

The fact is that California has increased their casino options in the state drastically on Schwarzenegger's watch and that has had a domino effect in the rest of the country. many other states have followed his lead and are now creating more money for their state.

Governor Charlie Crist in Florida signed a compact late last year with the Seminole Indians, and, while that compact was voided, it still paved the way for expanded casino gambling in the Sunshine State.

It is governor's like Crist and Schwarzenegger with an eye on the future, and a pulse on what that future is, that are changing the landscape of casino gambling in the country forever.

Once these states begin down the road of casino gambling legalization, there is no turning back. Once the casinos are built and the revenue begins coming in, it is there forever.

For the few politicians who are still against casino gambling, Schwarzenegger and his state of California are an example of the wonderful things that can be accomplished with additional revenue money from legalized and regulated casino gambling.
